5 Star Mobility Scooters follow the “Australian Privacy Principles and National Privacy Principles for the Fair Handling of Personal Information” which set clear standards for the collection, access, storage and use of personal information which we obtain as part of our business operations.

We also take measures to destroy or permanently delete personal information when it is no longer required. We do everything we can to make sure that the information we hold about you is accurate, complete, and up to date. We will not keep information longer that we need to. From time to time we check our databases to ensure that the information is accurate and up to date.
How personal information is used.
The personal information we ask for is generally used to provide goods and services to you. For example, for a credit card transaction we need your card number; for servicing of your product we need your name and address.
We may also use your personal information in other ways to provide you with superior service. This may include using your personal information to advise you of new products or services. We thoroughly investigate any suspected infringements of privacy. Disciplinary action is taken in cases where investigations of suspected infringements or privacy are proven.
Access to your personal information.
An individual or organisation (such as a law enforcement agency) seeking access to personal, health and other confidential information held by 5 Star Mobility Scooters must sign a confidentiality agreement. When entering into an agreement, the recipient agrees that the information will only be used and disclosed in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in the agreement. However, if you authorise us in writing to release personal information to another individual or organisation then a confidentiality agreement is not required.
If you ask, we will generally give you access to information we hold about you. However, there are some exceptions to this. For example, we do not have to give you access to personal information we hold about you were doing so would pose a serious and imminent threat to life or health, would unreasonably impact on the privacy of others or where the information would otherwise be exempt for disclosure by law.

Three Year Limited Warranty
For the period of three years, from the date of purchase from the Authorised Dealer, in the event of defective materials or workmanship, 5 Star Mobility Scooters will repair or replace at our option any of the following components found to be defective by an authorised representative:
- Steel Frame
- Frame Welds
- Tiller Frame
- Front Fork
- Seat Post
Eighteen Month Warranty
For the period of eighteen months, from the date of purchase from the Authorised Dealer, in the event of defective materials or workmanship, Travel Mobility Scooters will repair or replace at our option any of the following components found to be defective by an authorised 5 Star Mobility Scooters representative:
- Transaxle
- Motor / Brake (electrical function only)
- Wire Harness(es)
Note: An increase in operating noise of the transaxle DOES NOT constitute a defect or major fault. With normal wear and tear, operating noise is expected to increase.
One Year Warranty
For the period of one year, from the date of purchase from the Authorised Dealer, in the event of defective materials or workmanship 5 Star Mobility Scooters will repair or replace at our option any of the following components found to be defective by an authorised representative:
- Dash Assembly
- Battery Charger
- Potentiometer Assembly
- Electronic Controller
- Bearings
- Bushings
- Seat Swivel Mechanism
- Rubber Components, excluding tyres
- Plastic Components, excluding body
- Armrests, excluding pads
Note: While charging batteries it is normal for the battery charger to heat up. The heat coming from the battery charger DOES NOT constitute a defect.
NOTE: Items not listed above are not covered for repair under this warranty
Warranty Exclusions:
5 Star Mobility Scooters do not provide a warranty on any of the following items which may require replacement due to the normal wear and tear of day to day usage:
- Tyres and Tubes
- Plastic Shrouds
- Motor Brushes
- Bulbs / Fuses
- Brake pads
- Upholstery
- Armrest pads
This warranty also excludes the following:
Batteries (Please consult battery manufacturer for any implied warranty)
Loss or theft of components
Damage caused by:
- Battery fluid spillage or leakage
- Abuse, misuse, accident or negligence
- Improper operation, maintenance or storage
- Commercial use or use other than normal
- Repairs and / or modifications made to any part without specific written consent of Travel Mobility Scooters
- Exceeding the specified weight capacity of the unit
- Accessories other than those supplied or approved by 5 Star Mobility Scooters
- Failure to adhere to the product instructions contained in the Owner’s Manual
- Acts of Nature, such as lightning strikes, etc
- Circumstances beyond the control of 5 Star Mobility Scooters
- Call out fees or freight costs if the product is not returned to the authorised dealer.
- ANY PARTS ALTERED OR REPAIRED BY UNAUTHORISED PERSONS.
There is no other express warranty.
Implied warranties, including those of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are excluded. Liabilities for consequential damages are excluded. This warranty gives you specific rights and you may also have other rights which may vary from state to state.
How to get Warranty Service
Warranty service must be performed by an authorised 5 Star Mobility Scooters representative. 5 Star Mobility Scooters reserves the right to replace warranted parts with refurbished or new parts at our discretion. All service calls, call-out fees, transportation costs or any other charges associated with any warranty repairs are the responsibility of the consumer. Warranty is for the replacement of the part only and does not include freight for the replacement parts. Consumers are not to return any item to 5 Star Mobility Scooters without prior written authorisation. Any damages incurred while warranted parts are in transport are the sole responsibility of the consumer. To receive Warranty Service:
- Contact the Authorised Dealer from whom you purchased the product.
- Arrange to either deliver the product to the Dealer or to have the Dealer call out to inspect the product. Such call-out may attract a fee.
- When the service is complete, either pick up the product from the Dealer or pay for it to be delivered to you.
Warranty Terms and Conditions
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

All orders outside Australia will be subject to a postage and packing charge which you will be advised of prior to shipment of goods.

Damage on Delivery
Goods damaged in transit must be reported immediately by signing the delivery note ‘Damaged on Arrival’. You MUST inform 5 Star mobility Scooters as soon as possible on the SAME DAY as delivery/receipt of the goods that damage has been made. Any damaged goods must be retained by the buyer for any inspection. If the delivery note is signed without the comment ‘Damaged on Arrival’ the seller cannot be held responsible for damages. Customers may be requested to supply photos of the damage sustained in delivery and dispatch.
Guarantee
Manufacturer warranties and 5 Star Mobility Scooters warranties do not affect your consumer rights most of our products are guaranteed for twelve months by the manufacturer. Our warranty does not cover items used outside of the Australia and does not include the cost of the hire of a replacement product(s). For items purchased outside of mainland Australia, we can provide a return to base warranty at our discretion and at your cost. Our warranties provide coverage only if you maintain or use the product as directed. For example, our warranty covers only personal uses – as opposed to business uses – of the product. If there are multiple users of the product then we would not cover any product faults.
Please note that if you have made any modifications to the product then this invalidates the manufacturer’s warranty and 5 Star Mobility Scooters guarantee.

Returning Online Products
We hope you’re happy with every purchase you make with 5 Star Mobility Scooters but if this isn’t the case we hope to make the returns process as simple as possible. You have the right to return your order within 7 calendar days of receiving the goods at your cost . After this period, we cannot accept any returns.

To receive a full refund the product(s) must be returned complete, unused, in an undamaged state and in the original packaging. We will not refund you any supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us. If the product(s) are not returned in their original condition, 5 Star Mobility Scooters reserves the right to charge for repair or replacement of any product(s).
We’re happy for you to unpack the item and inspect it properly. However, if you’ve used it we will only make a partial refund to cover the loss in value of the product. This could be up to 50% of the price of the item. If on return of the goods, whether by post, self-delivery or courier, we find that necessary packaging is missing then we reserve the right to charge an $150 fee to repackage the product(s).
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on product(s) that are Made to Order, have been specially adapted to suit your requirements, or for products that can void Health & Safety regulations if used e.g. incontinence, bathroom or toilet products. A refund can only be given if the product(s) arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect. For incontinence products a refund can only be granted if you haven’t opened the outer packaging/wrapping.
If you have purchased something and collected from the showroom you can return it, however if your delivery was delivered by Fed Ex we are unable to accept returns to store.

If your product(s) were delivered by Standard Delivery and you wish to return them via courier you’ll incur one of the following charges, depending on the product. 5 Star Mobility Scooters we strive to save you as much money as possible. However, the charges below are incurred by ourselves when we arrange a courier to collect your item, so if you select a returns collection you are agreeing to pay this returns fee.
All refunds will be processed within 14 days following receipt of goods.
